A third year student of Valley University of Science and Technology Bushenyi was last night murdered by unknown assailants.
The lady only identified as Susan by press time was murdered at around 8:30 pm in Kitookye cell, Central division, Bushenyi Ishaka municipality.
It is alleged that the student who was murdered during a heavy down pour was first raped by the murderers.
SP Martial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the occurrence of the gruesome incident.
He however did not divulge more information but promised to get back to our reporter once he gets a detailed report.
This is second gruesome murder on a woman in space of two months; another woman Bride Julian was splashed with acid in broad day light.
She later succumbed to the burns at Mulago hospital after one week of battling.

In Bushenyi—

Dan Mugura Karukiiko the former Igara East MP contestant has asked people of Kyeizooba to support leaders who remain close to them even after elections instead of those who come to them for personal benefits but disappear thereafter.

The politician said these yesterday 6th Nov.2022 during his visit at Kichwamba Church of Uganda in Kyeizooba Archdeaconry West Ankole diocese.

He thanked the people of Kyeizooba for love and support they showed him in the 2021 elections and assured them to reciprocate their love.

He thus donated 30 pieces of uniform to the church choir in addition to the 25 bags of cement he had contributed towards the construction of the church.

The church lay leader Guard Mbabazi hailed Dan Mugura for the good things he is doing in Igara East and thanked him for not hiding from people even though he didn’t go through in the last elections.

He asked people of Kichwamba to support Dan Mugura in case he decides to come back for 2026 elections since he has proved to them that he is a true leader.

Kichwamba church choir leader Ms. Grace Matsiko applauded that with this spirit, Igara East will restore the lost glory.

Some of the schools he has visited are; Numba Catholic primary school and Nyandozo catholic primary school all in Bumbaire subcounty, Kihiire primary school and Nyakabanga primary school in kyabugimbi Sub county, Kyeizooba primary in Kyeizooba .

Former Igara East MP Contestant, Hon. Dan Mugura Karukiiko has challenged fellow catholic Christians in Buyanja to be servants of God.

He said this while delivering the 30 bags of cement that he had contributed towards construction of Rev. Father Chrispus Amumpaire’s house in Buyanja Kyeizooba, Igara East and a gift of a cow to Father Amumpaire’s mother Ms. Gaudensia Bereebire.

He added that God says in his word that let Christians test him ‘and see if he will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

Present at the function were the chairperson, parish council Mr. Byamugisha Richard who also happens to be Rev Father Wycliff’s father, Mr Atwiine Emmanuel the Speaker, Kyeizooba s/c and the chairman Lc 1 Mr Byarugaba Velentino.

After this colorful function Hon. Dan Mugura also visited Numba Catholic Primary school and Nyandozo Catholic Primary School where he met all P. 7 candidates, parents and the rest of the school committee members.

While delivering success wishes to P7, Mr Mugura donated scholastic materials including mathematical sets, pens and rulers.

He was in company of the chairman LC 3 Bumbaire Subcounty Mr. Celestine Bagampangire.

Mr Mugura further gave out an offer of a series of fully sponsored trips to all pupils of the schools and teachers to visit one of the best recreation and Play centre in Uganda called Mbarara Kids Planet.

Mr Mugura while visiting most of the schools in Igara East was clad in full school uniform of the schools he visited.

“I have put on this school uniform because I value you pupils and the future of this country lies in your hands. We were also pupils like you before turning into responsible leaders that we are today”, Dan said while at Nyandozo primary school.

Hon Mugura had on previous day paid similar visits to Kyeizooba Primary School and Mungonya P/S in Kyeizooba s/c and Kihiire primary school and Nyakabanga primary school in Kyabugimbi sub county.
Dan is known for being non segregative when it comes to serving the people of Igara East.

He says his priorities are on the projects that touch people’s lives especially sensitization on government programmes. The constituents of Igara East have identified themselves with this new blood because he is reachable and down to Earth.

Is it drama or seriousness? Bushenyi and Mitooma districts have both endorsed president Museveni whereas Igara East in Bushenyi has endorsed Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

During the world food day at Kyeizooba play ground in Igara East, the youth calling themselves Muhoozi Army endorsed Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the presidential candidate come 2026.
They went ahead to request the area member of parliament who was the guest of honor Michael Mawanda Maranga to take a message to general keinerugaba that they wanted him to contest for 2026 presidential elections.
Mawanda in an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com revealed that he would take the message to Muhoozi and come back with the response as urgent as possible.

However, what shocked everyone today 4th /11/2022 was Jaffari Bassajabalaba the district chairman, Elidad Karukiiko the NRM chairman for Kyeizooba sub county and others endorsing president Museveni during a function to open RDC’s office.
While presiding over the function, the minister in charge of presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda signed on the banner endorsing president Museveni though the Youths had previously endorsed his son Kainerugaba.
A month ago in Mitooma the vice president Jessica Alupo together with maj, gen. Kahinda Otafiire endorsed president Museveni at an international youth day at Kashenshero town council Mitooma district.
Now the question is , who is fooling who; president Museveni or his son Kainerugaba?.

Police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 36-year-old man who was hacked by assailants to death.

Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Onesmus Akankwasa a resident of Omukyibungo cell Karubirizi Nyakyinoni Sub County in Kanungu District.

It’s alleged that the deceased had dug a trench in which he was staying until the night of 31 Oct 2022, when he was attacked by unknown people who cut his neck that led to his death.

Maate said that the scene was visited and processed, Canine dog was taken from Rukungiri, and it led to the arrested of Nuwamanya Asa 35 years and a resident of Kamuswa cell Karubirizi parish Nyakyinoni sub county in Kanungu district to help in investigations.

The body was retrieved and taken to Kihihi health Centre IV for postmortem as investigations commence

Nyakabande sub county LCV councilor, Maniraguha Godfrey has petitioned the Bufumbira East legislator and district woman MP over government’s move to evict Gitundwe swamp users in Nyakabande sub county in January next year.
According to the letter addressed to Hon. Dr. James Nsaba Buturo and the state minister in charge of children and youth’s affairs, Hon. Sarah Nyirabashitsi, Maniraguha is requesting these legislators to be on ground and get to know the issues affecting the yet to be displaced Gitundwe swamp users.
Speaking to our reporter Maniraguha said that he opted for a petition to the members of parliament because they can easily address the issues affecting their voters to parliament for discussion and consideration.
He added that different leaders for swamp users combined efforts to write to NEMA appealing for reconsideration of its directive to have all swamp users evicted but no reply has been seen.
He said that Gitundwe swamp is the only food production area for Nyakabande people and moments of suffering are likely to be witnessed once evictions are made as planned.
He also accused the members of parliament for not visiting their voters in the recent holiday. He added that once his petition is not answered, he will rally locals to protest by walking to state house.

Meanwhile, he rallied locals that depend on the said swamp not to accept government’s low quality Irish potato seeds, poor quality livestock and other interventions that will not provide a sustainable life.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter, the Bufumbira East Member of parliament, Hon. Dr. Nsaba Buturo said that the wetland users are right not to leave the wetland until government provides them with alternative source of livelihood.
He revealed that as leaders they are still asking government to compensate wetland users. He blamed poor quality of livestock and farm products on selfish local leaders who act on behalf of government.

Nigerian sensational Gospel artist, Ada Ehi will be Live in Mbarara city , Uganda on 12th November 2022. Ada Ogochukwu Ehi is a Gospel singer, Songwriter, Recording, and Performing artist. Ada Ogochukwu Ehi is simply known by her stage name Ada Ehi and was born in the early ’80s.

She is married to Nigeran entrepreneur Moses Ehi who is the CEO of Free Nation and Sound Code Studios a record label that signed up ADAH.

She began her music career at the age of 10 as a backup singer for a child star, Tosin Jegede. In 2009, she was professionally signed to Loveworld records under Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the pastor of Christ Embassy church.

She served as a music minister in the Christ Embassy church choir and performed at several Christ embassy events in several programs around the world including Europe, America, and several African countries.

Ada has 5 albums so far namely “Undenied (2009)”, “Lifted (2013)”, “So Fly (2013)”, “Future Now (2017)” and “Ada’s EP Vol 1 (2019)”. In March 2020, Ada collaborated with Sinach on a song titled “Fix My Eyes”.

On 12 th November 2022, Adah will be live in a gospel concert at Kakyeka Stadium hosted by SPIRIT TV, one of Uganda’s urban gospel Television. This will be the second time Adah will be in Uganda after her first visit on September 16th 2017.

Addressing journalists in Mbarara city on Monday, Pastor Tashobya the President Federation Of Gospel Artists in Uganda revealed that Adah Ehi has already confirmed to a performance in Mbarara city on 12th, Nov .
He said local gospel artists will also get a chance to perform alongside the international Sensational gospel artist.

Adah Ehi will also hold a concert at Cricket Oval lugogo on 11th.Nov.2022 before performing in Mbarara city on 12th.Nov.2022.

The territorial police of Rukiga are investigating circumstances surrounding the murder of two juveniles.
According to the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson ASP. Elly Maate, the deceased are Mackline Amumpaire 14 years and Vincent Akandwanaho 10 years.
Maate said both pupils are from Kiholizo primary school and biological children of Regina Turinawe and Bernard Rushijja residents of Rutoma cell Nyakagabagaba parish Rwamucucu Sub County in Rukiga district.
It’s alleged that the mother of the children started receiving several threats from one Alban after he was fired by a certain man who had employed him in his banana plantation and instead replaced him with the mother of the two deceased juveniles.
On Tuesday 18th October 2022, she lost a relative in Wachebe village within Kyerero sub county where together with her husband left for burial, leaving the two juveniles at home and only returning on 20th October 2022 at around 4:00pm they found them in bed lifeless.
They made an alarm which attracted the neighbors and other members of the public including the sub county chairperson Hon. Eddie Mugisha who accordingly alerted the Police.
A team led by D/ASP. Mbahimba Williams OC CID responded and established that they were hit on their heads with small hoes which were there.
Two suspects including Alban were arrested to aid police in investigations, although he had been badly beaten and now admitted in Mbaro health centre under guard.

The deputy head of mission for Benelux countries and European Union in Brussels Franklin Katungwe has successfully graduated with an executive master’s degree in governance and development policy despite the heavy diplomatic schedule.
In an online interview with www.mknewslink.com managing director from Brussels to Bushenyi, Ambassador Katungwe noted that he was able to make it despite his busy schedule because he studied during weekends, evenings and through virtual.
He graduated from CECRIS- ULB Diplomatic school of Brussels on 10th October 2022.
He intimated to www.mknewslink.com that he dedicates degree to his wife Magret Katungwe and late mother Dinah Ruhinguza.
Katungwe also holds a degree in business administration from Makerere university business school. He is also highly skilled in land surveying.
He retired from Uganda revenue authority as a customs officer and he has as well worked with Uganda posts and telecommunications.
He also contested for Bushenyi Ishaka municipal parliamentary seat but lost to Nasser Bassajabalaba. He tried to re contest in a bye election but he was advised against it by the President who later appointed him as an ambassador in Brussels

An HIV positive woman Eva Bashabire Turyamureba stunned Bushenyi district and Municipality in particular that was preceded by church service at Kashenyi church of Uganda.
The service was presided over the emeritus bishop Yona Katoonene who preached with vigor, hope and happiness.
He was assisted by the Rev. Can Muhwezi, the archdeacon of Ishaka Urban Archdeaconry and the parish priest Kashenyi.
Emeritus Katoonene assured Christians who were fully packed in the church that HIV can be overcome when you get saved fully, take your drugs in time and start preaching against it like Bashabire.
The service was attended by dignitaries who included; Prof. Emmanuel Karoro, Former head teacher Mwine sub county chief Ruhumuro Nelson among other dignatories.
After the service the entire church went to her home near Kashenyi health centre, planted a memorable tree and had goodies at home.
Robby Muhumuza the board member Nation media and his wife Anne Muhumuza took charge of the memorial magazine that was launched by Bishop Emeritus Yona Katoonene.
Presents and speeches started flowing in; the first one was for TASO Mbarara where about 15 people attended and gave a speech including a young girl who learnt of her HIV status at 11 and she is now Miss Uganda young activist.
Mary Karooro Okurut sent her sister in law Ms. Dorah Karoro to deliver her huge presents which were ably delivered with applause and support from fans of Eva.
She had an article in the magazine that read from Ashes to grace as she describes Eva Bashabire’s situation.
Other people who had articles in the magazine include Emeritus Bishop Yona Katoonene titled living with hope amidst challenges, Jaffari Bassajabala titled appreciation of Eva Turyamureba’s advocacy efforts.
