The prime minister of Tooro kingdom Mr.Benard Tungwako has appealed to the clan and committee leaders in Tooro kingdom to be creative in this coming celebration of Empango.

Tungwako said that there is a need to be committed and even creative if they are to make colorful Empango celebrations that will be held on 17th/sept/2016.

He also appealed for the support, cooperation, hard work from people as well as clan leaders as this will help them to succeed with their celebrations.

Tungwako was speaking at the kingdom headquarters at Muchwa south division in fort portal municipality Kabarole district Yesterday at a function prepared to solicit funds from different clan leaders that will help in proper preparations of their Empango ceremony.

Talking to www.mk news link.com reporter yesterday, he revealed some of the strategies they have already put in place such as painting of the king’s palace, clearing of the grass around the karuzika palace and even the fencing commenced last week.

The clan members promised that they will show up the Great Spirit they have for their adorable king Oyo Nyinba Kabamba I guru Rukiidi 4 as he is making 21years in kingship.

They however also emphasized on the cultural and descent dressing as this will help in promoting their culture.

A seven-year-old male giraffe has died of anxiety after being caged
and loaded onto a truck at a Taiwan zoo, the latest animal death to
spark angry calls for tougher protection laws.

The giraffe — named Hsiao Chiu — was due to be transported from the
municipal Taipei Zoo to a private zoo for mating when he began to
struggle and then collapsed, officials said Thursday.

“The zoo lost Hsiao Chiu in a painful accident,” Taipei Zoo said in a
statement, adding the trip had already been postponed from June so the
sensitive animal could get familiar with the process.

The animal had died before the truck had even left for the private zoo
in Hsinchu city, about 70 kilometres (43.5 miles) from Taipei.

An autopsy showed the giraffe was suffering from pneumonia and anxiety
from the transportation, which triggered breathing difficulties and
muscle damage.

The giraffe died of lung and heart failure.

Animal rights advocates criticised the zoo while vowing to continue to
push for tougher laws to protect animals in captivity.

“This kind of negligence that leads to animal deaths should have been
prevented — but it keeps happening,” said Chen Yu-min, director of
the Environment and Animal Society of Taiwan.

The giraffe’s death made the front-pages of some local newspapers,
which also criticised the zoo for failing to detect its illness.

The minister of science, innovations and technology Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye has warned married couples to avoid drinking too much alcohol that leads to marriage break ups.
Dr. Elioda said this yesterday evening at the wedding reception of Mr chris Mugasha and his wife Kellen Mugasha held at Muga gardens near Bushenyi town.
Mugasha is journalist with the new vision and has been staying with his wife for over ten years.
Minister Elioda noted that in marriage, couples need to faithful to each other, exhibit true love, be open and avoid domestic violence. “I give this advice from line of experience, I have been in marriage for 25 years” he said.
The minister of general duties in the office of the prime minister, Canon. Mary karooro Okurut warned women and girls against artificial bums and pins in the noises and all over the body.
She noted that this is being copied from china and other developed countries. She said this must be avoided by Ugandan women because they are not part of their culture.
The newlyweds, Mugasha and Kellen hailed all the people from Kampala, Bushenyi and other areas for supporting them to be able to make a colorful wedding.
Other dignitaries who attended the function include Thomas Tayebwa MP Ruhinda North, Capt. Donozio Kahonda for Ruhinda all in Mitooma district and Arinda Gordon cow boy MP Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality plus Winston Katushabe assistant commissioner—transport licensing board and Emmy Musasirane director operations at Movit products.

Herbalists have been tasked to always scrutinize the herbs they use noting that some of them are harmful to people’s lives.

This was observed by chairperson for Bundibugyo district Mutegeki Ronald in a meeting organized by Bundibugyo herbalist and traditional healers under their umbrella Uganda Bwanga Bwamirembe cultural Association network of traditional healers and birth attendants held at Bundibugyo community hall yesterday.

Mutegeki however showed his dissatisfaction with the herbal packaging noting that poor packaging has compromised sanitation in the place hence causing abnormal cases leading to poor living health conditions in the area.

Yunusu Nguru the chairperson of the herbalists, urged the government to raise its support to them as one way of improving the lives of the people as this will stop people from attending to witch crafts.

While speaking to Mk news link.com reporter, the RDC Bundibugyo district Mucunguzi Geofrey asked the herbalists and traditional healers to join hands and also teach people on the measures of preventing HIV/AIDS.

Tribal clashes have re ensued in Bundibugyo district leaving one house burnt to ashes and other properties destroyed.

The attackers who are believed to be from the Bamba side attacked the house of un identified Mukonjo and cut down his cocoa plantation.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening in Kakalijo village, Ntotoro Sub County in Bundibugyo district.

Eyewitnesses said that the post election clashes started in the same village.

One death has been recorded following the Tuesday’s attacks but the area resident district commissioner Geoffrey Mucunguzi condemned the re occurring tribal conflicts.

He says that security operatives have been fully deployed to prevent further attacks between the two tribes.

Reports show that people who fled the areas of Ntotoro, Kirumya, Kasitu, and Ngamba sub counties had started returning back home.

Rwenzururu King, Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma has asked the
elected political leaders to be pro-people and work for them
regardless of their political affiliations.
The Omusinga said this yesterday at Kinyamaseke primary school
playground in Kinyamaseke town board of Munkunyu sub-county in Kasese
district during his familiarization tour in the area.
The Omusinga said that personally he likes working with leaders who
serve according to the people’s interests, appealing to the newly
elected leaders to serve all the people equally.
He commended the people of Munkunyu sub-county for having lived
peacefully and in harmony regardless of the various tribes in the
area.
Munkunyu sub-county is comprised mainly of three tribes including the
Bakonzo, Banyabindi and the Busongora.
The Omusinga said that the Rwenzururu Kingdom recognizes all the
tribes in the region and the subjects are willing to stay peacefully
with everyone so long as he/she has shown respect for the Kingdom.
On the issue of splitting Kasese district, the Omusinga asked the
people whether they were interested and in unison opposed the idea.
The Omusinga then attributed the issue of the split of the district to
what he described as political losers and retired servants.
He noted that the logic behind the split was to disorganize the
Kingdom and the current political leaders, adding that the proposed
boundaries were unclear.
He also described the idea as controversial which he said needed a
referendum for the people to decide.
Bukonzo East Member of Parliament, Harold Tonny Muhindo appreciated
the efforts of the Rwenzururu King towards the promotion and
restoration of peace and unity in the region and for having been
instrumental in comforting the families that lost their dear ones
during the post election violence that befell the district.
He reported to the King that the people in Bukonzo East were not
comfortable with the idea of splitting the district, adding that as
Members of Parliament from the district, they would stand firm in
parliament to oppose the idea.
The Acting Prime Minister of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu, the Rt. Hon.
Johnson Thembo Kitsumbire appealed to the Members of parliament from
the district to instead advocate for the rehabilitation of
Kampala-Kasese railway, the airport and an international irrigation
scheme other than splitting the district.

Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu has asked government to compensate the people
who were shot and injured at a funeral vigil in Kyabarungira
sub-county in Kasese district.
The Acting Prime Minister, Johnson Thembo Kitsumbire told www.mknewslink.com news website that
although the police gave some money during the burials, it should also
compensate the families and meet the medical bills for those nursing
wounds at Kilembe hospital.
A police officer who has been identified as Opalat Bainomugisha No.
40090 PC went wild on the fateful night shooting 4 women and 4
children at a funeral vigil on Kaghorwe village in Kyabarungira
sub-county Busongra north constituency in Kasese district.
One of the children died on spot and others were rushed to Kilembe
Hospital where they area receiving treatment.
He condemned the act and asked government to put the suspect to book.
However, this reporter learnt that a high ranking Police officer from
the Uganda Police Force headquarters in Kampala attended the burial of
the deceased child in Kyabarungira.
He made a big contribution towards the burial of the child and later
visited the injured at Kilembe Hospital contributing Sh. 1,000,000 to
each of the injured for medical treatment.

Tooro Kingdom is a first ever unity conference aiming at glorifying the kingdom from the lost glory that has since tarnished its reputation.
Talking mknewslink, Tooro Prime Minister Bernad Tungakwa said the conference was requested by Tooro kingdom cabinet and legislators as a reconciliation tool aiming at developing the region.
Mr. Bernard said this will help the kingdom rediscover its glory that has since been lost due to the differences they have been faced by different individuals.

‘’The conference is aimed making the way forward for the development of the kingdom and surrounding areas so that we can discover our lost glorify’’ Mr. Bernard said

According to him, the conference which will be an annual event will also discuss ways of improving education in the region, how to solve unemployment among Tooro youth and discovering all possible ways of improving on peoples investments and savings in Tooro region.
In accordance to this proposal, the residents have abide by it noting that the conference is timely as there has developed many cases of disunity in the kingdom as well as conflicts between the members,

One of the elder in the kingdom Mr.Kateeba Polly says that this will promote unity and cooperation among the Batooro hence leading to the development of the kingdom as well as the whole nation.
