For long, it has been in the corridors of the public that LIGHT SS NYABUBARE cheat’s exams at both O level and A level.

While some indeed always believed this, but other members of the public thought that this was a malicious move to tarnish the name of the school.

However, the truth is finally here,53 students of Light SS (O level) had their exams withheld for malpractice (Refer to Last Year’s O level results,2022).

The Said students have now been invited to Kampala to face UNEB tribunal.

UNEB has also invited the Headteacher of the school Mr. Nimwesiga Laban and the Director of studies Asimwe Benards also all the invigilators that invigilated at Light SS have been invited to face the same tribunal.

The paper that raised dust most was chemistry practical paper 545/4 where all the 53 students are said to have had the same answers, same everything, while others mistakenly confused their index numbers with those they were sharing answers with.

They have been made to depart for Kampala using different cars, stationed at Kabwohe, they feared using a single means of transport for fear of suspicion from the public. They have set off today from Kabwohe.

It is also said that the Director of the school has wired 60M shillings to the account of the Head teacher for use in trying to cover up what may cause disaster to the school.

Lately the Director has been traveling to kampala to meet members of the tribunal with little success and hopes to use money on the last minute, to save the image of the school.

When u see some schools performing like they do, claiming to perform academic miracles, know that there are dirty hidden games like these.

Worst of all such schools turn to their sister schools which work hard to get genuine results, and accuse them of failing students.

The wife of the late Sarapio Mawanda yesterday revealed at the burial that the killers planed the move a week before, and poisoned all the dogs such that they could enter freely into the house of the deceased.

Mawanda, a retired UPDF officer was murdered on 7th March 2023 night at his home in Kigoma Bushenyi District.

Mrs. Mawanda who spoke with strength noted that the killers of her husband are not far from their home, she even amused people saying that the killers could even be among the mourners at the burial.

The late Sarapio Mawanda was buried yesterday at his home in kigoma, speaker after speaker describing him as a good man who used to encourage people to work hard and become rich without having jealousy for them.

Mrs. Mawanda noted that those who killed her husband will be arrested and punished by both the law and God.

Mwanda was murdered on 7th March by cutting the neck and head, doctor Nankinga told mourners that the deceased died as a result of over blooding.

Mwanda has been living with HIV/AIDS since 1994 when he tested positive and the wife tested negative.

The chief mourner who is the District Chairman of Bushenyi district Mr. Jafari Bassajja Balaba said that the killing of Mawanda was a shock and promised to work with security in the district to arrest the killers.

Senior presidential advisor in charge of media and public affairs Hon. Mary Karooro Okurut has been shocked by the incident at Kyamate Secondary School where a student was tied on a dormitory bed and burnt.

Hon. Mary Karooro said this today 06/03/2023 on the burial ceremony of the Late Mzee Elly Bamwiine at his home in Kibale Nyakabirizi, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality Bushenyi district.

She noted that people should stop evil accept Jesus Christ and live in peace and harmony.

A senior one Student at Kyamate secondary school was tied on bed and burnt into ashes by the fellow students who were expelled from school due to indiscipline.

She continued to say that God created people to leave in peace but not to kill one another.

Late Mzee Elly Bamwiine was a retired surveyor died at the age of 86 and was highly respected as a trusted surveyor.

A privately owned school in Bushenyi district has excelled in UACE with the best student with 19 aggregates.

According to the deputy head teacher Gerald Magyezi, the students excelled because of team work amongst teachers, parents and students.

Mr. Magyezi said that the best student Musiime Nicholas has 19 aggregates followed by Akatwebembera Prosper and Owomugisha Samuerine both with 18 aggregates.

He added that two students Mugisha Goodman and Mushemeza Victor. R. got 17 aggregates followed by five candidates with 16 aggregates and 18 candidates with 15 aggregates respectively.

He noted that over 95% of the candidates that sat qualify to join university each with 2 principle passes.

Court presided over by the Rukungiri Chief magistrate Mbabazi Edith Mary has cleared Butubuura Prosper on all charges of utterance of false documents.

The Engineer was dragged to court by the inspector general of government that he had allegedly uttered a false document allegedly signed and denied by Mr. Jackson Byamukama, the then Kanungu town council town clerk between October and November 2013.

Prosecution argued that Butubuura who was serving as the Kanungu town council Assistant Engineering Officer on 23rd October 2013 fraudulently uttered a false agreement for hire of a road equipment.

It is said that the false agreement was signed between Byamukama with Labuju Technical Services Limited, a construction company to hire equipment to construct roads in Kanungu.

He added that Butubuura also fraudulently uttered forged acquisition of 3.75 Million Shillings on behalf of Byamukama.

Chief magistrate revealed that evidence from witnesses confirmed to court that the money in question was requisitioned through the normal procedures adding that the town council did not incur any loss.

Mbabazi added that the witnesses who include the former town clerk of the town council and others confirmed that the engineer had executed his work effectively and for them they had no complaint against him.

She revealed that the prosecution could not prove to court that the engineer had a case to answer thus acquitting him of two counts which include utterance of false documents.

Butubura told mknewslink reporter that he was grateful after court had realized the truth and set him free.

He revealed that he is happy that he can now resume his normal duties.

Kiconco Patrick Katabazi of pathways advocates who represented Butubura in the case revealed that his client was innocent and it is good that finally court has cleared him.

The office of the Kabale Deputy Resident district commissioner (D/RDC) receives 5-6 cases of land conflicts and gender based violence daily.

The Kabale Deputy Resident district commissioner Ronald Bakak said this over the weekend at the consultative meeting between Ndorwa East Constituency member of parliament Hon Wilfred Niwagaba and his coordinators.

The meeting was held at golf course inn located at makanga hill, central division kabale municipality.

Bakak delivering his speech, he noted that he records over 5 to 6 cases of domestic violence daily which results in divorce, murders, child abuse and among others which puts the security of kabale at stake.

He explained that the main root cause of these domestic violence’s are excessive alcohol and drug use, poor behavioural control and impulsiveness, low levels of education, poverty, history of physical or emotional abuse in childhood, economic stress and among others.

Bakak promised that as long as he is still the D/RDC for kabale district, he will not accept women battering and other forms of violence in families.

he appealed to people from kigezi and uganda at large to respect their spouses.

The retired Ambassador of Uganda to Australia Amb. Enoch Nkuruh has advised Bishops and other church leaders not to award titles like canon, elders, church wardens and extra to the rich but to award committed poor Christians.

“Don’t look at me because am an ambassador and give me a church title of canon and leave behind the poor committed women who come to church every Sunday and offer what they have” Ambassador. Nkuruho observed.

He said this today 14/02/2023 at Kyeitembe church of Uganda during a funeral service of the late canon Jovanis Bahigwa who succumbed to diabetes on Feb 11th 2023 in kampala.

According to the son and the heir of the late Bahigwa, Mr. Robert Mugisha Bahigwa told the people in the church that her mother tested positive to diabetes in 1990’s and it escalated after the death of her husband the late Israel Bahigwa around 2012.

Mugisha added that effects of diabetes brought into her life a disease of forgetfulness and even during covid she amputated as a result of diabetes.

Her daughter who took care of her for 6 years in kampala Stellah Bahigwa and her husband Nyanzi thanked GOD for giving them the life of their mother up to 80 years.

Senior Presidential advisor in charge of security Chris Rwakasisi hailed the husband of the late canon Jovanis Bahigwa for influencing the President to release him from the death row.

The late Israel Bahigwa is the one who linked information in 2009 that I was going to be released from Luzira prison and prepared one of his houses for me to rest from.

The late Israel Bahigwa didn’t know how to read and write but could speak to the President as if he was speaking to his peers.

The late Bahigwa told the President that we cannot drink and dine when my brother Rwakasisi is rotting in prison.

The burial will take place tomorrow 15/02/2023 at their ancestral home in Kyeitembe ward Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality, Bushenyi district western Uganda.

From the results released by Uganda National Examinations Board yesterday, Valley College excelled emerging as the 296th best school countrywide.

According to the Headtecher, Ms Kabeizi Doreen all the students who sat for the examinations passed. The school has 15 students in 1st grade, 15 students in 2nd grade and 12 students in the 3rd grade.

Sande Innocent emerged as the best student with 18 aggregates followed by Mumbere Brandon and Muhabuzi Darren with 19 and 21 respectively.

She attributes the excellent performance to good discipline, hard work by the students, conducive study environment, commitment from teachers and parents.

The school has vacancies from s.1 to s.6, an affordable fees structure and offers bursaries to bright learners.

Police in Kabale are holding a man for the alleged murder of her 50 years old biological mother.

ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman has identified the suspect is one Benon Tumwesigye a male adult resident of Hakabungo cell Mukalange ward Katuna town council, who is alleged to have used a hoe to hit his mother on the head killing her on the spot
The deceased has been identified as Provia Busingye a Rwandan national of the same address.

Maate explains the suspect divorced his wife and she went back to her parent’s home in Rwanda while pregnant.

He further explains that 05/02/2023,the estranged wife suffered a still birth which led the suspect to start accusing his own mother of have bewitched his wife

On 06/02/2023, at around 02:00AM while the deceased, her other daughter, the suspect, and others were at home preparing to go for the burial of the said child in Rwanda, the suspect attacked the deceased, hitting her with a hoe on the head several times, killing her instantly.
Police at Katuna police station were notified, and the scene was visited this morning by the Kabale team and documented.

Exhibits of two hoes with suspected blood stains were recovered at the crime scene, the body was retrieved and conveyed to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Suspect was arrested and inquiries are ongoing.

All roads in Western Uganda led to Valley University of Science and Technology Bushenyi district as it held its 3rd Graduation.

A total of 180 graduands were conferred with degrees and diplomas by the Chancellor of the University Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga.
The colorful ceremony was attended by very many dignitaries from greater Bushenyi and Western Uganda.

The Chief Guest was Director General banana industrial research and development center BIRDC/PIBID Rev. Prof. Dr. Florence Isabirye Muranga. She called upon the graduands to be focused in the world of work and further their education because this was just the beginning of the journey academia.

She also warned them not to give up when they will face challenges which help to sharpen their brain for a successful future.
She continued to advise them that they will face failure like losing jobs, property and money but GOD is there to comfort them and bring them back to light.

The chancellor Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga encouraged graduates to avoid running for slavery in the Middle East but instead use the skills and knowledge acquire to be self-reliant citizens who create jobs. He noted that Uganda is a rich country which has the capacity to provide employment to all its citizens who have packaged themselves well.

The chairperson Board of Trustees Sir Richard Kaijuka noted that the University submitted its charter application last year in June and that all efforts will be geared at working with National Council for Higher Education to attain it before this year ends.

The Chairperson University Council, prof. William Kyamuhangire appreciated the fruitful collaboration the University enjoys with Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga. He noted that Dr. Garuga has sponsored more than 30 students to study at this University and made cash donation worth more than 100 million shillings to purchase books and computers for the University Library. Therefore Council recognized the contribution of Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga by naming the University Main Building after him; not because he is the Chancellor but because of his immense contribution to this University

The University Vice Chancellor Dr. Enos Rwasheema called upon the parents and guardians to bring their children to Valley University because the Institution is equipped with very all that is necessary to turn round graduates.

The bishop of west Ankole diocese Rt.Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni called upon already graduates at the time not to waste time because time is precious.

He also concluded by asking students to add value in their communities for the purposes of development.

According to information available at Valley University, the Institution provides free accommodation to students which is not a privilege among other Universities in Uganda and abroad.

The best performing students Akankwatsa Charity passed with 4.53 CGPA in bachelor of business administration, Sseruma Steven with 4.71 in bachelor of Science in information technology and Behwera Arthur passed with 4.51 CGPA in diploma in primary education

The University secretary Mr. Janan Mubehamwe also read out the decision of the University Council and Senate to reward the founder of Valley University Mzee William Mukaira and his wife Joy Mukaira.

Other people awarded included; Mr. Bwambale Patrick who was the overall best performing teaching staff, Mr. Agaba Andrew, the Marketing Officer as the overall best performing Adminstrative Staff and Mr. Atwiine Difa as the overall best performing support staff.
