The Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Dr. Balaam Barugahara, has urged women to use the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity Women (GROW) funds.On Friday, while launching the one-day GROW training for women at Kabalega Resort Hotel Masindi, Dr
Balaam stressed that in most cases, beneficiaries of such programs tend to use the funds for other unintended purposes, like marriage ceremonies, among others.
He applauded the government for the project and said it would improve household income.

Balaam said the the World Bank released 800 billion shillings to boast the businesses for women to transform from poverty to money economy.
Balaam on economy Eng. Patrick Kalonda, a researcher from NARO, says they are training women entrepreneurs in goat, dairy, and apiary enterprises and imparting skills to women in order to improve on their livelihoods.

The Masindi District Chief Administrative Officer, Sanyu Phiona asked the women to embrace the GROW project.

Eng. Annette Kyomuhangi, the Bunyoro regional manager of Dairy Development Authority, asked women in Masindi to embrace the GROW project and adopt best animal husbandry practices since they will have access to the grant.

Cosmas Byaruhang pledged total support to Masindi women entrepreneurs and asked them to embrace the GROW project to improve their businesses.

Kabale Muslim District Supreme Council, along with local leaders and aspiring politicians, united today to denounce the dangerous corruption killing the nation.

Their collective voice rang out during the Eid –el-Fitr celebrations held at Ndorwa primary playground in southern Division Kabale Municipality.

Speaking to journalists on the celebrations, Hajji Issa Tindyebwa, Chairperson of the Kabale Muslim District Supreme Council, and Sheik Kassim Kamugisha, former Kabale Municipality MP aspirant and current Nakawa Division Deputy RCC, emphasized the detrimental effects of corruption, particularly its roots at the district-level where job positions are often secured through bribery.

They lamented the deteriorating state of service delivery attributed to the rampant sale of positions within district service commissions.

Hajji Issa and Sheik Kassim urged for collective action against corruption.

Kabale district woman MP, Hon Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, called upon the public to combat corruption starting from the grassroots level, emphasizing the role of both citizens and the government in this fight.

She also urged Muslims to actively participate in developmental initiatives for the betterment of their communities.

In a show of solidarity, aspiring leaders Grace Ankunda Bekunda Bwesigye (woman MP Kabale) and Counsel Atweibembere Wilbrod Rwamunahe (LC5 Chairperson) joined the Kabale Muslim District Supreme Council’s call for the president’s visit to their headquarters in Kirigime ward, situated between the Catholic and Protestant headquarters of Rushorooza and Rugarama, respectively.

Bushenyi deputy resident district commissioner Mr.William Katsigazi has revealed that the church for pastor Eddie which was closed last month will remain closed until the district security committee sits and takes a decision.
Pastor Eddie Tibategyeza was arrested a month ago on charges of conning his followers.
According to Bushenyi chief magistrate’s court records, Pastor Eddie was released on bail from Nyamushekyera government prison on March 28, 2024.
Deputy RDC Katsigazi told www.mknewslink.com news website today April 02, 2024 that after the district security committee has pronounced itself on the matter, it will call a meeting of stakeholders, chairmen LC1 to resolve the issue once and for all.
He added that they will not interfere with the court process but rather deal with administrative matters of the church.
About ten of his followers allege that pastor Eddie duped them and stole over 10m from them.

The district chairman Bushenyi Jafari Basajabalaba has revealed that him and the district don’t understand President Museveni and his son Ge. Muhoozi on the presidency plan.
“For here in Bushenyi, what we don’t understand is president Museveni and his son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba on the presidency. However according to the Banyakole culture proverb, you cant love the son and hate the father or vice versa” Jafari told a big gathering of Banyabushenyi.
He said this Friday during belated international women’s day celebrations for Bushenyi district held at st. kagwa primary school play ground.
He noted that they don’t understand the senile that is taking place between Museven and his son.
On that same day of March 15, 2024, Gen. muhoozi had a huge baraza in masaka for greater Masaka districts.
Gen. muhoozi has been traversing the country looking for support for president whereas his father has not come out to declare that he is retiring in 2026.
The chief guest Anita Annet Among was represented by the minister of local government hon. Rafeal Magyezi. He read her speech which heaped praises to mp Annet Mugisha for the hard work both in parliament and in the constituency of Bushenyi district.
Hon. Magyezi launched a magazine of what so far MP Annet Mugisha has achieved in constituency and parliament.
She also launched construction of Bamugisha medical centre in st. Kagwa to help the people of Bushenyi get treatment while supplementing government ones in the district.
The function was attended by over 20 members of parliament to support their own Hon Annet Mugisha.

Bushenyi district chairman Mr. Jafari Basajabalaba has described the late Bushenyi district speaker Emmanuel Karasi as a fearless leader who never wanted at all to see impunity either in church or society.
Late district speaker Karasi died of acute diabetes and meningitis on March 08, 2024 at Mbarara regional referral hospital.
Chairman Jafari noted that to prove that late Karasi was a no nonsense man. He took to court Anglican church many times because of impunity.
“You church leaders, you are also not fair to your followers. You break laws” Mr. Jafari noted.
He added in similar occurrences above, the last destination for late Karasi would be courts of law.
Late Karasi took to court the current Bishop of west Ankole Rt Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni accusing him constituting the synod illegally.

His wife Rose Nambuya Karasi described her husband a s a strong man who loved his family and education of the children. He left behind 6 children.

He will be buried in Kirugu Rubirizi district on Tuesday March 12, 2024. Mr Jafari announced that tomorrow Monday, Bushenyi district council will sit and eulogize Late Karasi for two hours at Bushenyi district council hall.

According to the headmistress of the school Mrs Juliet Muzoora, 225 girls sat for UACE 2023 and with GODS grace ,they all passed and qualify to join university and other tertiary institutions.
Bweranyangi girls sss was started by missionaries in 1910 and has educated and groomed responsible women all over the world who excel at work for their families and society at large.
Bweranyangi recently excelled in UCE 2023 results by performing excellently. Mrs Muzoora advised pupils and parents who want to educate their students in Bweranyangi to work hard because the school is not a joking entity.

Three prime suspects in connection with the murder of the former acting Masindi district health officer, Dr. Jino Abiriga, have been remanded for the fourth time.

Betty Cherotich, 31, Namureng Joshua, 36, and Kipsang Martin, 31, appeared before the Masindi magistrate court on Tuesday 5th March 2024.

The Masindi Chief Magistrate, Kosia Kasibayo, remanded the trio to Hoima government prisons on allegations of murder.

Aganyira Munanura Arinaitwe, the state prosecutor, however, prayed for adjournment of the case since investigations into the matter are still ongoing.

Magistrate Kasibayo therefore adjourned the case to March 21, 2024, for mention.

Between the nights of January 6 and 7, 2024, the trio allegedly unlawfully murdered Dr. Jino Abiriga, contrary to sections 188 and 189 of the penal code act.

Professor Emmanuel Karoro a distinguish Professor with a huge back ground of literature in English and management skills told www.mknewslink.com that he has pioneered post graduate courses in over three universities in Ankole and Kigezi sub regions.
While at his home in Katungu Bushenyi town, prof. Karoro noted that he started post graduate courses at KIU western campus in 2004 and himself taught course unit of Research methods to even Doctors doing masters degrees in public health among others.
He added that still in 2013, Bishop Barham university college a branch of UCU Mukono headed then by prof. Muranga invited him to assist Dr.Katungwesi and start post graduate courses. He said that they ably did it.
Prof. Karoro went ahead to say that Mbarara university of science and technology also kept engaging him to supervise PhD and masters students. This kept with experience handle post graduate studies.

He emphasized that Dr. Rwanshema the vice chancellor of Valley university [VUST] recently invited him to head post graduate studies.
In last month’s graduation, graduated pioneer students of post graduated diploma in management science.

Parental care primary school this week celebrated excellent performance in PLE 2023.
The function was held at the school located in the heart of Bushenyi town.
The chief guest Mr. Jafari Basajabalaba urged parents to support their children in the education journey for the success of their families.
Basajjabalaba expressed concern that some parents in certain schools have shifted their responsibilities onto the government and teachers, thereby impeding the educational progress of their children.
Addressing the teachers, parents, leaders and other Education stakeholders that graced the function at the School Grounds in Bushenyi Municipality, Basajjabalaba pledged the District Council’s recognition of Parental Care School for its remarkable achievements in the education sector.
The Chiefguest used the same opportunity to request Uganda’s Education Minister and First lady, Hon Janet Kataha Museveni to support Parental Care Nursery and Primary School pupils who won the 2023 African Debate Championship as they prepare to go for World Debate competition in Czech Republic in June this year stressing that they have already put the Country on the African map, hence a chance to shine World over.
Basajjabalaba’s call comes at a time when the Minister is set to visit Bushenyi on 23rd March 2024 to officiate at the grand opening of the teachers’ Sacco and Parental Care Primary School Bushenyi is already on the list of those that will present on the day.

Mitooma district chairman and former senior synod member Mr Benon Karyaija has revealed that Mitooma is also ready to be granted a diocese status after Sheema which is first in line.
In an exclusive telephone interview with www.mknewslink.com editor about the quest by Sheema for a diocese status to be curved out of west Ankole diocese, Karyaija noted that his area of Mitooma is also ready for a diocese status.
He said that Mitooma Christians have already started expansion of mitooma archdeaconry church which is proposed to be the headquarters of the diocese.
www.mknewslink.com Editor got back to Chairman Karyaija today Nov. 24, 2023 to divulge more details about this surprise decision to Bishop Johnson and he ably reechoed the earlier plan by Mitooma be granted a diocese.
He noted that Mitooma on top of expanding the church, is constructing the bishop’s house this came about after they celebrated 100 years of Christianity in the district and raised a lot of money.
Mr Karyaija added that their diocese will be named Mitooma diocese like kinkinzi diocese unlike sheema of central ankole diocese.
He said that mitooma has six archdeaconries and their plan is to ensure that every parish has a graduate reverend.
He concluded that Mitooma has many learned clergy whom one of them can become a first bishop of mitooma diocese. He added that even before Bishop Johnson assumed office, Rev. Canon Turyahabwe from mitooma was a potential candidate for WAD bishop.
