CHAIRMAN KAMURARI APPEARS IN COURT; DENIES ALL CHARGES

The Isingiro district chairperson Jeremiah Birungi Kamulari Omugogozi who is said to have been in hiding after the court issued warrant of arrest yesterday appeared before grade one magistrate court on the charges against him.
While appearing before the grade one magistrate Hillary Atanazio Muragyira, four cases were mentioned against Kamulari including theft, assault, criminal trespass and malicious damages which were committed between 2016-2017 in Isingiro.
The accused denied all the cases against him.
Through his lawyer Bonefance Ngarunye of Ngauruye Rihindi and advocates in submission,he asked the court to grant him bail.
The magistrate Atanazio granted the court bail of four cases each file at 400000 totaling to 1.6million shillings cash and each surety is to pay 800,000 non cash.
The hearing of the case was adjourned until 23rd may 2019.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com after court session, the Isingiro district chairperson Jeremiah Birungi Kamaulari Omugogozi said that the charges are politically motivated, after he declared that he will contest for Bukanga county Member of Parliament, against incumbent, Steven Kangwangye.
