Yesterday a panel of three judges of the nullified all interim orders that have been issued by the constitution court since its inception because they were in contravention of the provisions of the constitution.
Commenting on reports of petitions about Justice Steven Kavuma’s conduct before the Judicial commision the chief Justice said that the correct procedure and hoped that the commission will investigate such matters and if members think there is a reason to do further investigations they will then advise the president to suspend the him as they look into all the allegations.
Katureebe who was quoted in the press as having said that he doesn’t have powers to suspend or sack a judge as a chief Justice while answering questions from journalists about the delays on pending constitutional applications said Judiciary is trying to make sure that once a panel of Judges is constituted all delayed cases get handled but not necessarily constitution matters only.
