CHRISTMAS CASH: FATHER KILLS SON IN KANUNGU

Police in Kanungu district are holding a 52 year old man for stabbing his
25 year old son to death.
The suspect is Gaston Bataringaya resident of Rwencuncu cell, Mishenyi
parish, Rugyeyo sub county Kanungu district.
It is alleged that the deceased Doroviko Muhozi came home from Kampala
yesterday, and started asking the father for some money to use in
Christmas.
The father answered angrily as he also had no money. The deceased got
annoyed and started fighting with the father, thus stabbing his father
on the back. The father also grabbed the same knife and stabbed his
son on several parts of the body.
The Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate says that after the
fight both were rushed to Kisizi hospital for first aid, where the son
died shortly after.
Maate says that the suspect is also still in critical condition at
Kisizi hospital, and that body is still in Kisizi hospital mortuary
pending postmortem.
Maate has condemned the act, adding that after investigations the
suspect will be charged accordingly. He has also calling on the youth
to always work for themselves rather than relying on parent’s money.
