CHURCH LEADERS ADVISED TO FIGHT CORRUPTION

Bishop Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa, the 5th Bishop of Ankole Diocese appealed to Church leaders to fight corruption in the church.
In his Christmas message, Bishop Sheldon said that there is a lot of corruption in the church, with the leaders failing to account for money meant for different church projects.
According to Sheldon, church leaders cannot begin criticizing corruption in government when they are corruption, thus called for self examination.
Meanwhile, at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church in Mbarara, the main preacher, Fr Dezi Tumwiine called upon Christiansto ensure a peaceful 2019 by expressing love and trust to each other.
The prayers were attended by big dignitories including the Chief Justice of Uganda, Bart Katureebe.
Security in and around different churches in Mbarara, was heightened with counter terrorism, regular police and other security personnel to avoid any incident that would jeopardize security of the people.
