Mr. Silver Tindizirarira the Principle inspector of urban Development in Ministry of Local Government has warned civil servants against wasting resources and funds instead of serving Ugandans.
He explained that the community expects much from them thus they should work excellently towards fulfilling the expectation of the public.
Tindizirarira was on Saturday commissioning the newly constructed Rwerere town council headquarters. He represented the Local Government Permanent Secretary Ben Kumumanya.
The building that will accommodate Five offices was constructed at a cost of UGX 49M under the town council Start Up fund in financial year 2020/2021.
He went on to caution civil servants against opposing government programs if communities they serve are to benefit and develop.
The Rukungiri district Chief Administrative Officer Elias Byamungu urged Rwerere town council leaders to use constructed building accordingly to effectively serve the needs of the community.
Rwerere town council chairperson Mrs. Catherine Kansiime however requested for office furniture from the government to fit in this newly constructed building.
Rwerere town council was curved out of Nyakagyeme Sub County in 2017 in Government’s effort to bring services nearer to the people.
