CIVIL SOCIETY ACTIVIST PERISHES IN NTUNGAMO NASTY ACCIDENT

A civil society activist was one of the two people who perished in yesterday`s accident that happened in Ntungamo town along Mbarara-Kabale road.

Dr. Dan Mugizi Mujinya was travelling together with a friend Mushabe Rwakabare before their car registration number UBG 004Y, overturned several times.

The Ntungamo District Road Safety and Traffic Officer, Ms Caroline Angeyo, confirmed the incident saying that the accident could have been as a result of over speeding.

“Driver lost control and rammed into a ditch, both the driver and the passenger died on spot .We are yet to know what exactly caused the accident but we suspect it was due to over speeding,” Angeyo noted.

Mugizi was a Programs Coordinator at the Appropriate Revival Initiative For strategic Empowerment (ARISE) a non -governmental organization that implements several projects including support to HIV -affected families, plus milk projects supported by the Netherlands government in Ntungamo ,Rukungiri,Isingiro,Rwampara,Bushenyi and Mitooma Districts.
