CONGOLESE REFUGEES INFLUX CAUSES PANIC IN FORT-PORTAL

Residents hailing from Rwengoma B west division Fort Portal municipality are in great fear after numbers of Congolese refugee’s storm their area.
According to residents, unconfirmed number Congolese refugees started coming to their area on Tuesday night.
According to residents, the Congolese came and rented every empty house in the area and they claim to have come from Bunya in D.R. Congo due to tribal clashes that erupted in the eastern province.
They add that the refugees have rented houses whereby over 20 people are found in one room.
The residents explained that their lives are at risk since Congo has been reported to be having Ebola virus and other killer diseases.
The residents noted that they cannot tell whether these refugees are genuine that they might be rebels.
Our reporter who visited the area discovered that some of the refugees have rented some houses belonging to LC1chairperson for Rwengoma B who has not reported them to police or any authorities.
Our www.mknewslink.com reporter tried to get a comment from the security agencies they denied having any information about the refugees’ presence but said they were still investigating the matter.
Meanwhile Ntoroko local government has appealed to the government to relocate Congolese refugees from their area.
