In Kabale—-
The Kigezi Region Police Commander Richard Ecega has blamed the continued accidents on the roads to most boda boda riders and taxi drivers who ride and drive under the influence of narcotic drugs.
Ecega was on Wednesday speaking during the sensitization meeting about road safety guidelines to bodaboda riders and taxi drivers in Kabale municipality that was held at Kabale Taxi Park.
He said that most of the accidents on the roads are caused by motorists who take narcotic drugs especially marijuana, that influence them to over speed which results into accidents.
The Kigezi Region Inspector of Vehicles Joseph Akatuhwera added that other accidents are caused by some motorists who fail to interpret road signs just because they didn’t study theory about road safety guidelines.
The Officer In charge of Traffic at Kabale Central Police station, Andrew Muyambi, cautioned drivers and riders against overloading.
