By Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante
In Sheema/ Bushenyi—-
The wife to the late John Ibara, Joy Ibaara the owner of the Kitagata hot springs according to the title she has held for over 20 years revealed that she will not pave way for the development of the hot springs unless she is compensated by the government.
She said this last evening at Ekimeza bar in Bushenyi town in an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor on how she is going to proceed as the government wants to take over her land.
John Ibaara was a commissioner in many ministries before he died not long time ago after retirement and people around the hot springs confirm that the land is for the family of the late John Ibaara.
According to the lawyer for Joy Ibaara, senior Counsel Paul Tusubira, they are ready to take on any one who dares take over the land including RDC Kyerere, Kitagata town council leaders among others.
The ministry of tourism earmarked money to develop Kitagata hot springs by providing modern latrines, bath rooms, parking and the fence. This is according to the earlier interview with the RDC Frank Kyerere.
However, the public has rejected the offer by the ministry of Tourism and Kitagata town council on grounds that they want to steal the land.
Leaders from Sheema, Bushenyi and Mitooma have all gathered there before to demonstrate against the development of the hot spring by the government.
Those who gathered there include; Bushenyi district chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba, CEO Western Ankole Civil Society Forum Apollo Lee Kakonge, retired Senior Commissioner of Police Laban Muhabwe.
