CORONA VIRUS: PRICES OF COMMODITIES INCREASE AFTER BOARDERS ARE CLOSED

Following the out break of Covid 19 Corona Virus Ugandans are scared on what to feed their families and children after traders have increased prices of goods .
Some residents say government should come to their aid since prices of goods are increasing yet there is little or no earnings as some of the businesses have been closed.
Cosmas Mwijukye a grocery trader in Bushenyi town revealed to www.mknewslink.com reporter that they are worried because their supply routes have been closed.
Mwijukye added that prices of salt, Posho and rice have increased because taxes on these three commodities have also been increased unlike other commodities.
Other traders especially school suppliers noted that due to abrupt closure of schools , they are in debts as most of the schools closed before they could pay them.
Scola Tukesiga a trader in Bushenyi central market revealed that they have not yet faced any problem with the prices because they are still selling old stock .
She however noted that they are some how worried about the transport fares in the coming times especially when going for shopping.
www.mknewslink reporter who visited central market observed a challenge of traders loosing customers as most of them were chased away after refusing to wash their hands before entering the market.
