BREAKING NEWS:COURT ORDERS KARYEIJA’S RETURN TO HIS MITOOMA OFFICE

In Mitooma–
The embattled LC5 chairman for Mitooma district;Benon Karyeija who was on Monday impeached by his councilors has today been reinstated by high court as the validly elected LC5 chairman until 2021 unless court rules otherwise.
The Mitooma district councilors on Monday July 24, 2017 impeached Karyeija basing on Tribunal’s report that convicted him on three counts of abuse of office.
The tribunal which was instituted to by the minister of local government heard from the district councilors that Karyeija fraudulently sold mine- earth[marram] at Rukukuru government prison without the procurement unit procedures.
The councilors also accused Karyeija of hiring a private personal driver without using the district service commission.
After being censured, Karyeija through his lawyers Alex Kibandama and Paul Tusubila Advocates lodged an application in Kampala high court for injunction order against his councilors which was granted to him today July 28, 2017.
The injunction order signed by the Assistant registrar of High court; Joy Bahinguza Kabagye orders Karyeija to retain his office as the validly elected LC5 chairman for Mitooma district until 2021 unless court rules otherwise.
