COVID 19: KABALE MAN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER HOSPITAL DISCHARGE

Police in Kabale have recovered the body of a 50-year-old man who allegedly committed suicide having been discharged over COVID 19.
Godfrey Safari threw himself into Kijuguta River in Nyakahita cell, Kyanamira parish, Kyanamira sub county Kabale district.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police mouthpiece told www.mknewslink.com that the deceased had been admitted at Kabale regional referral hospital over COVID 19 and was discharged on the 07/09/2021.
He was welcomed home and had supper with the family, but he disappeared shortly after the meal.
Upon waiting for him in vain, the family alerted the neighbors who joined them in hunt for the deceased but could not find him.
His body was recovered yesterday afternoon from the waters of river kyijuguta.
The PRO said that police officers from Kabale police station led by the DPC ASP Rashid Byansi, SOCO and others proceeded to the scene, took photos and body was examined.
Maate noted that the preliminary evidence on record shows that the deceased committed suicide, however inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the incident
