COVID 19: PTA MEETINGS BANNED AHEAD OF SCHOOL RE OPENING IN KABALE

The acting Kabale District Education Officer has called off the school PTA meetings as sub candidate classes prepare to report back to schools amidst COVID 19.
On 4th February 2021, President Museveni announced the re-opening dates for semi-candidates, universities and tertiary institutions during his address on covid-19 pandemic and school reopening.
According to the President, learners in Primary Six, S3 and S5 will resume classes on March 1, 2021, and will study in a staggered system where different groups of learners will be reporting to school on different days as decided by the ministry of Education or school authorities.
Tumwijukye Moses Bwesigye, the acting DEO, Kabale while speaking to our reporter urged school proprietors to follow the SOPs and wait a bit to have PTA meetings since COVID 19 is still in existence .
He further appealed to school proprietors to ensure that schools follow ministry of health guidelines about COVID19 especially regular temperature measuring and daily records at the entrances of the school.
He also called upon parents to first visit schools before sending their children back to school for the betterment of their children’s safety from COVID 19.
Speaking to our reporter Bruce Ariho, head teacher Kabale Trinity College and Abraham Akampurira, Head Teacher Kigezi High School said that since the school calendar is out, they are prepared to receive learners revealing that there will be no any fees increment by the schools.
