CROOZE FM’S AARON TAKES ABC MESSAGE TO STREETS AS UGANDA MARKS WORLD AIDS DAY

The founder and the team leader for Rise Against Poverty Organization,RAP Uganda Aaron Ainomugisha has taken the Abstain, be faithful and Use condom(ABC) message as Uganda joins the rest of the world to mark the world AIDS day.
Aaron Ainomugisha who is also a celebrated Runyankole -Rukiga News Anchor and a journalist on Crooze Fm distributed over 250 boxes of male Condoms and carried out Sensitisation around Mbarara city.
He revealed that though he is HIV/AIDS negative, he gets concerned as a journalist and an activist to advocate for a better society.
“As government, other organizations and individuals work jointly to fight against HIV/AIDS plus addressing other issues, the public should take part by living responsibly” he added.
World AIDS Day was first observed in 1988 and this year’s theme is “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic, Resilience and Impact while Uganda Marked it under the theme “National Solidarity and Shared Responsibility towards Ending AIDS”
According to UNAID, there were approximately 38 million people across the globe with HIV/AIDS in 2019 of these 36.2 million were adults and 1.8 million were children below 15 years
Out of about 38 million HIV positive People worldwide 69 percent live in sub-Saharan Africa
There is Roughly 23.8 million infected people in all of Africa, 91 Percent of the world’s HIV Positive children live in Africa, More than one million adults and children die every year from HIV /AIDS in Africa alone
In Uganda about, 1.5 million (of about 45 million of the Uganda’s population) live with HIV .
