DEFILEMENT IN KABALE

Police in Kabale District is holding a 49 year old man for allegedly
defiling a 17 year old girl.
The suspect has been identified as Albert Bitamba a resident of
Mashenga cell, Western Ward, in Kanungu district.
It is alleged that the suspect was caught red handed yesterday morning at
Rayder Inn bar and Lodge in Central division Kabale Municipality
having canal knowledge with the victim who is a resident of Kabirizi
cell, Nyakabungo parish Ikumba Sub County in Rubanda district.
It is alleged that the victim visited her father in Kanungu for the
holiday where he works as the head teacher and yesterday morning boarded a
taxi back to Rubanda but directly went to the said lodge.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate has confirmed the
incidencet saying that Bitamba was arrested after the concerned
citizens rung the police who rushed to the scene and caught them read
handed.
Maate encouraged parents to always be vigilant on their children’s
movements because some children are facing problems by irresponsible
people, he adds that the case has been filed at Kabale central police
station under reference number CRB2449/17 and after investigations he
will be taken to court to answer charges of defilement.
