In Mitooma/ Kampala—
The deputy speaker of the national assembly of Uganda youthful Thomas Tayebwa has cracked a whip and summoned to parliament his mentor and village mate Maj. Gen. Kahind Otafiire to answer quarrels related to expensive visas and passports of Ugandans living abroad.
Speaker Thomas Tayebwa issued the summons of Tuesday July 12, 2022 while chairing parliament and noted that he had been in America of recent and found out that renewing a passport needed 3000 US dollars.
His visit therefore forced him to crack the whip and summoned Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire his mentor and Jeje Odong ministers of internal affairs and foreign affairs respectively.
According to history available on the rise and success of Thomas Tayebwa, maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire has a huge contribution as a 41 year old man.
They did trading together, introduced him to generals in south sudan after it had become an independent country where he got huge chunks of money.
Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire contributed huge to what Thomas Tayebwa is today economically, politically.
They both come from the same district of Mitooma; Thomas is from Ruhinda north which was curved off from Ruhinda central which Kahinda leads.
On the other hand by the powers vested to the deputy speaker by the constitution of Uganda and rules of procedure of parliament, Thomas Tayebwa has powers to do what he did but exposing a mentor and father at the floor of parliament was uncalled for according to the analysis made by www.mknewslink.com.
Thomas Tayebwa has no rank in the army and therefore summoning the generals who fought in the 1981-85 NRA bush war is looked at by the generals as ridicule.
According to unconfirmed sources, Maj. Gen. Kahinda recently seriously abused the prime minister of Uganda Robinah Nabanja in a cabinet chaired by vice president Jessica Alupo over matters related to Thomas Tayebwa
