DESIST FROM LAND FRAGMENTATION—VP SSEKANDI

Ugandans have been tipped on desisting from land fragmentation if they are to maximize on their household income.
The call was made yesterday by Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, the vice president of republic of Uganda representing H. E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni while Officiating the fundraisingtowards the bishop annual appeal fund (BAAF) at Rushoroza Cathedral grounds in Kabale municipality kabale district.
The fundraising was intended to track funds of building a 2.5billions multipurpose church office block for saving the diocese funds and will be allocated in kabale town.
Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi commended the diocese
for the project which he said will ease the church’s work.
He pledged 100 million Uganda shillings, to help in kick starting the
foundation for the office block.
162 millions shillings were collected from Kisoro, 65 millions from Rukiga, 98 millions from Kanungu, 111 from Rukungiri and 25 millions from Rubanda districts.
At the event, over ug shs 1.6 billions was raised towards the project both in cash and pledges.
The diocesan Bishop, Callist Rubaramira, noted that fundraising for the project, is an act of togetherness and love for God and the diocese.
The fundraising function was attended by several MPs, ministers, bankers, and Kampala businessmen hailing from Kigezi.
