DON’T DARE OPEN ENTERTAINMENT CENTRES, COVID 19 IS STILL ALIVE—KIGEZI POLICE

With one day left to Easter celebrations, Police in Kigezi Region have cautioned people to continue adhering to COVID 19 ministry of health and Presidential guidelines during Easter celebrations.
Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate, in a press release today, noted that despite the COVID 19 vaccination that is going on, Standard Operating Procedures must be observed in this Easter season.
Maate stated that Entertainment Centres still remain under lockdown and that religious place must stick to the numbers as guided by the Ministry of health as curfew still stands.
“Let’s all remain security conscious and vigilant enough to guard against criminal activities that can cause problems .Be rest assured that the Police and other sister security agencies are very alert to avert any security situation to ensure peace and stability during this festive season,” read part of the statement.
He further called on residents to report any security threat to relevant local leaders for onward submission of such information to police for a remedy.
He however revealed that whoever operates illegally will be taken to courts of law and answer charges accordingly
Easter will be celebrated on Sunday 4th 2021.
