DON’T TAKE MUNICIPALITY AS YOUR HOMES— GREATER BUSHENYI MAGISTRATE WARNS SHEEMA MUNICIPALITY NEW LEADERS

On Friday, 24, 43 councillors and a mayor Abel Atucungwire Kahara of Sheema municipality were swore in for the first time ever since last year when it was created officially.
Charles Nyeteise, the Chief magistrate greater Bushenyi who headed the swearing in ceremony asked the new councilors and mayor to always do their official duties with in the law but not taking municipality and offices respectively as their homes where they do whatever they want.
He also requested them to always observe secrecy of the council noting that whoever exaggerates the secrecies to the public should be handled as the law established.
Nyeteise also warned the councilors not to use their offices to punish those who didn’t vote for them but rather use them accurately and constitutionally
On the same ceremony, Steven Katwiromunda, was elected as the Municipal speaker where he defeated his opponents Henry Tumwebaze, and Tusiima Catherine.
The newly elected mayor, Kahara asked councilors and all people at large to forget what happened during elections and concentrate on how to develop Sheema municipality.
Prominent political figures attended in person the likes of Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi mayor Mbarara municipality, RDC sheema district Willy Turyamubona, David Kabigumira chairman LCV Sheema district, Dr Elioda Tumwesigye cabinet minister for science innovation and technology, mayor Ibanda municipality among others
