In Mbarara—
With just few hours to tomorrow’s polling day the District Police Commander Mbarara district SP John Rutagira has come out to strongly warn all candidates and their Supporters to desist from violent activities.
Rutagira sounded the warning yesterday while addressing journalists at his office in Mbarara city.
The DPC told the press that police have already got intelligence reports that some people are threatening to burn car tyres and block roads to various polling stations.
He warned such people and those planning to cause confusion at polling stations that police are ready for them; they will be apprehended and the law will deal with them accordingly.
He however advised all voters to keep calm, vote for their respective candidates and go home as they wait for the results.
Rutagira called upon the youths to avoid manipulation by political leaders who encourage them to engage in acts that will compromise their future
