DR. KIZZA BESIGYE’S HOME DISTRICT TURNS INTO LAND OF BLOOD SHED, OVER 6 KILLED IN APRIL

Police in Rukungiri are hunting for Akampurira Brason 18 suspected to have assaulted a 31 year old man in Rukungiri before he died.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson says the suspect is a resident of Kagyeyo cell, Nyibingo parish in Kebisoni Sub-county, Rukungiri District.

Maate says that on 26th April 2021 at around 2pm, the deceased Tukahirwa Simon a resident of Nyamubogore cell, Nyibingo parish, Kebison Sub-county in Rukungiri district developed a misunderstanding with Akampurira while at Dubai trading centre

Maate adds that Akampurira hit the deceased on the head with a stick collapsing instantly. His relatives immediately rushed him to Kalori Lwanga Hospital Nyakibare for treatment where he was pronounced dead the following day.

Thereafter, one Benon Katambuka the father to the deceased reported the case to Rukungiri police station and the scene was visited, postmortem done.

Rukungiri has in the month of April turned into a land of murder and blood shed with over 6 residents strangled, hacked or assaulted to death.

On April 6th, Natwijuka Godfrey a resident of Karokarungi village, Kakindo Parish, Bugangari sub county was assaulted in a bar and passes on the following day as the family was preparing to take him to Hospital.

On April 17th 2021 at around 9PM at Kanyankyende village in Bugangari sub county Rukungiri district, Barugahare Bernard 74 was attacked by his grandson Kamwesigye Jackson alias boy” who stabbed him to death over unpaid paid wages.

On 18/04/2021 another case of death by strangulation of Mugisha Godfrey 58 a resident of Kahimbi cell, Kikarara parish Bwambara sub county Rukungiri District was also registered.

On April 22nd 2021, Nyinamisango Veneranda of about 36 years resident of Rushinya cell, Burama parish Bwambara sub county in Rukungiri District was also stabbed to death by Babweyoreka Deogratius 55 on allegations of stealing UGX 9M.

Another case of murder by assault of Asiimwe Weren 40 was registered on April 27th 2021 raising concerning over the area security.
