The in charge for Nyamiryango health centre II in Nyamiryango parish Butanda Sub County Ndorwa west Kabale district is on spot for excessive drinking of alcohol during working hours.
The in charge has been identified as Isaac Atukwase who was transferred to the health centre last year.
According to patients who preferred anonymity, the in charge wakes up at a trading centre especially in Kyevu for alcohol instead of opening the health centre.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com yesterday at Nyamiryango health centre II, Mark Niwasaasira a concerned resident of Kagoma village Nyamiryango parish Butanda Sub County said that the in charge opens the health centre at around mid day yet the patients are always already stranded outside.
He added that he was at the same health centre seeking for help one time and found it closed towards 11:30 am and when contacted the in charge told him to wait and he first finishes his bottle.
Ruth Owomugisha a patient from Rutoojo village Nyamiryago parish Butanda Sub County also suggested that the man be transferred explaining that patients might be given wrong medicine.
However, after tracing him from the bar taking alcohol,Isaac Atukwase refuted the allegations during an interview with www.mknewslink.com saying that the service is being rendered effectively.
When contacted the Kabale District Health Officer Dr. Alfred Besigensi, said he was not aware of the matter and promised to follow up the case.
The affected health centre was built in 2006 and it serves more than 10,000 people from Butanda and Rubaya Sub Counties.
