EIGHT PEOPLE FEARED DEAD AS HEAVY RAINS SWEEP MBARARA RWIZI ARCH HOTEL

Over eight people are feared dead following last night heavy rains in Mbarara town that swept Rwizi Arch Hotel in Rwebikoona trading centre.
Rwizi Arch Hotel located on Mbarara-Kabale road has registered a lot of damages and business is at stand still across many parts of Mbarara town.
Our www.mknewslink.com reporter in Mbarar says, a wall fence of Rwizi Arch Hotel in Rwebikoona trading centre ; Mbarara town was swept by the fast-moving, heavy water during last night violent rains. The hotel, however, is still operating.
The dangerous floods resulting from a heavy downpour also charged through roads taking along 8 boda boda riders, and so far 5 motorcycles have been rescued by authorities.
One body was also found being hurtled by River Rwizi waters.
The other 7 bodies are still being searched, according to authorities.
A couple of customers are still fighting for their lives under debris of the collapsed hotel.
Police officers are fighting tooth and nail to save the lives of people who are still covered.
The heavy downpour also spread to Insingiro district, destroying a house and woman was killed there.
The floods are also said to have filled Mbarara-Masaka road, blocking movement in some parts of the road.
