National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission has declared Kikuube district as the most worrying area as seven new districts conduct party primaries to elect party flag bearers today Wednesday 21.
Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM Electoral Commission chairman while meeting party candidates for Kikuube and Hoima districts on Tuesday evening at RDCs office said that he decided to oversee the party primaries to ensure the elections are free, fair and transparent.
According to him, there are reports that some candidates are planning to ferry voters from neighboring districts like Kagadi, Kakumiro to go and vote in Kikuube while others plan to let students vote which is unacceptable.
He said voters must be Ugandans with National Identity cards and residents of the villages where they are voting from with their names in the NRM voter register.
Kisembo Araali, the Hoima RDC warned candidates and voters to desist from all forms of election violence saying that police and the army have been deployed in all corners to ensure the exercise ends peacefully.
NRM party is conducting its primaries in the seven districts of Kikuube, Kwania, Nabituluk, Bugweri, Kasanda, Kapelebyong and Hoima.
Hoima district woman Member of Parliament seat fell vacant after the incumbent legislature Tophus Kaahwa Byagira crossed to the new Kikuube district which was curved out of Hoima beginning July this year.
