ELIODA REPLACEMENT; NRM KICKS OFF NOMINATIONS FOR SHEEMA NORTH

NRM party basing on its headquarters Kyandondo Kampala has officially today started nominating candidates for Sheema candidates to compete in the party primaries.
All these are happening after the Minister for science technology and innovation Dr Elioda Tumwesigye who has been the MP representing Sheema north left the constituency for Sheema municipality.
On 27th July 2018, Dr. Elioda was elected as the MP for newly created Sheema Municipality and on 30th July 2018 the seat was announced vacant.
Since then Sheema north people have had no representative in the parliament of Uganda though the electoral commission ordered for new elections within a period of sixty days.
So far only three candidates have publically revealed their interest to stand in NRM primaries and among these are; Nuwagaba Guma former Mitooma district RDC and currently RDC Bundibugyo district, Ms Naome Kibaaju former defence ministry employee and started working with NRM party immediately after the bush in 1986 and Vianne director Vianne high school.
The exact date of these elections is yet to be set according to NRM electoral commission.
