In Masindi
The case in which Kajura’s family members sued Abdul Ssali and Henry Kajura the former deputy prime minister for illegally mortgaging their family property has failed to kick off.
Henry Muganwa Kajura is said to have sold 20.23 hectares in 2015 at a fee of 500 million Ugandan shillings to Abdu Ssali.
Thereafter Abdu Ssali dragged Kajura to Masindi high court on the 25th of May 2018 accusing him of failing to vacate the land he(Ssali) allegedly bought from him.
According to the agreement signed by both parties on the 2nd of October 2015 the land in Question is a free hold land volume 459 Folio 18 Block 9 plot 5 land at Bughya county in Hoima district measuring approximately 20.23 hectares.
Last year, the family members led by Evelyn Kajura also filed an application at Masindi high court challenging the manner in which Muganwa Kajura and Abdul Ssali made the transaction.
In their plaint they contend that the two parties made transactions without the family’s consent and yet they were to be consulted before making any action since the property belonged to the whole family.
yesterday the family’s case which was filed against Muganwa Kajura and Abdul Ssali and the one which Ssali filed against Kajura the land seller were supposed to come up for hearing but they were adjourned to 15th April 2020.
The cases were adjourned by the chief magistrate Masindi court, Moses Kule Lubangula, because the Masindi resident judge, Albert Rugadya Atwooki, was not around.
Neither Kajura’s family members nor his lawyers were present in court; Ssali and his lawyer Simon kasangaki were present in court.
Speaking to journalists outside court, Abdul Ssali, noted that he is receiving threats from unknown people adding that on the 26 September 2019 he was arrested by the people who claimed that they were from CMI while he had gone to bank his money in centenary bank at Mapera building in Kampala.
He explained that he found himself at Kampala central police station and he was released on bond the same day.
