EX MINISTER LOKODO TASKS MEDIA TO SPEARHEAD FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION

The former minister of state for Ethics and Integrity Fr. Simon Lokodo has tasked the media to continue spearheading the fight against Corruption.
The minister was yesterday speaking during a meeting between the media and the inspectorate of Government south Western region held at Lake View hotel in Mbarara city
Fr. Lokodo noted that since the media act as the fourth estate of government, they need to be supported by government as they play their role of whistle blowing and watchdog on government officials who embezzle funds.
Lokodo further warned corrupt government officials not to dare risk because the government has constituted organs like; the inspectorate of Government, state house Anti-corruption unit and strong laws meant to deal with corrupt government officials who are found guilty of embezzling the tax payers’ money.
The Deputy Inspector of Government Mariam Wangadya directed all public servants to declare their assets in time or else they will be summoned before the inspectorate of Government to face penalties.
