FATHER ARRESTED FOR TORTURING 4 YEAR OLD SON OVER BED WETTING

Police in Masindi are holding a 30- year old boda boda man for allegedly torturing his biological son aged four years for wetting the bed.

The suspect has been identified as Nebert  Kitabule, a boda boda rider in Masindi town and a resident of Kitareebe cell in Nyangahya division Masindi municipality.

Mansur Mubiru, the chairperson local council one Kitareeba village has said that Kitabule divorced his wife Elizabeth Basemera at the start of lock down leaving him with two children aged four years and three years.

He added that because of his work, the children have been surviving on the mercies of the neighbors during day time and sadly upon coming back at night, he would severely torture them accusing them of wetting the bed.

Margrete Kiiza, one of the nearby neighbors says for several times she could hear children crying but in the fateful night she heard uncontrolled cries from the boy and later reported the case to the LC1 Chairperson Mubiru who in return reported the case at Masindi police station.

Elizabeth Basemera, a mother of the victim, has said that she wanted to divorce with her children but the father refused.

Agnes Okidi, officer in charge of Masindi police child and protection has said that Kitabure will be charged with aggravated torture and attempted murder.
