The Forum for Democratic Change President, Eng. Amuriat Aboi POA has said that corruption that is allegedly facilitated by the ruling NRM government has continued to hamper the utilization of natural resources that exist in the Rwenzori region.
Eng. Amuriat made the remarks last evening while officiating at the launch of the online registration of the party members in the Rwenzori sub region that was held at Kilembe Quarters Play ground in Kasese.
He noted that the ruling government has failed to revamp the Kilembe Mines Limited, Katwe Salt Processing factory in Kasese district, the resources that would give employment to thousands of young people.
He advised the population to vote out the current government in the forthcoming elections so that they pave way for the government that would ensure even distribution of resources.
The party boss also told the gathering that the ruling government has continued to pledge to the people of Kasese, the elevation of the airfield to an international level and putting up solutions to the challenge of land wrangles but all have remained unfulfilled.
Nandala Mafabi, the Party’s General Secretary called on the people to ensure unity and mobilize for the party so that they gain the strength to overthrow the sitting government.
Kasese Woman Member of Parliament Hon Florence Kabugho reaffirmed her commitment towards the unity of the FDC party in the district and urged all FDC supporters to work towards reclaiming Kasese, which she said is the bedrock of the opposition party.
Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, the Kasese FDC Chairperson said Kasese would not heed to any voices that could possibly divide the FDC.
