FIRE IN KASESE: THREE HOUSES BURNT, PLANTATIONS CUT

IN KASESE—
Three houses were today burnt to ashes in Kabuyiri II cell of
Nyabugando ward in Mpondwe – Lhubiriha town council, Kasese district.
The incident that also left coffee and banana plantations destroyed
followed the death of a woman who is suspected to have been strangled
by her husband.
Jockim Mukuke 26, a son to a man only identified as Mbaka is suspected
to have killed his wife, Juliano Muhindo 23 and dumped her lifeless
body in the coffee plantation. The body was discovered yesterday
morning.
A postmortem that was conducted at yet unknown health facility by the
help of the police indicates that the deceased was strangled.
The incident forced some residents in the area to storm their home and
burnt three houses as well as destroying plantations belonging to the
family. The suspect is on the run in retaliation of what had happened
to woman.

smoke and flames coming from the buildings. He also reported that all
the affected family members have gone into hiding for their precious
lives.
The area Local Council One Chairperson, Julius Safari was not readily
available for a comment but Eric Maathu Muhasa, the Mahango sub-county
chairperson where the deceased hails from told our reporter that they
had brought the lifeless body in Kinyamathe I village.
According to Maathu, the deceased is a daughter to Ngoyi Mbusa, a
resident of the same area in Lhuhiri parish.
