By Ambrose Kweronda
In Kisoro—
Kisoro district is on fire following a dispute between the district chairman Abel Bizimana and the RDC Capt. Peter Mugisha.
It is alleged that the district Chairperson Abel Bizimana was almost assassinated on the orders the RDC Peter Mugisha as security operatives enforced curfew.
According to Abel Bizimana, he was supposed to have a meeting with teachers at Sun set bar only to be destructed by bullets.
Through his social media handles, Abel Bizimana alias Zulu Pie referred to the shooting as an assassination staged by the RDC Capt. Peter Mugisha.
“Mr. RDC Peter Mugisha, I survived your assassination yesterday. Hope you won’t use your system to leave Kisoro when they don’t have an LCV chairman. I definitely know you will finally retire to Kanungu but you don’t have to leave when LCV is in a coffin. We shall overcome,” the chairman posted.
Kisoro district liaisons officer Boaz Arinaitwe who followed the conversation on For God and my Country advised the chairman to report the matter to police if he feels the incident was an assassination.
“Members good morning. I have been following the comments and submissions on the incident of Wednesday might night along Mutanda road. We need to have facts as we submit. Let our chairman come and make a report at police so that investigations take off. We do not condone offenders in any way,” posted Arinaitwe.
