FIRST EVER PRIVATE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION LAUNCHED IN WESTERN UGANDA

The first ever private teachers Association has been launched today sat. 30, 2024 in Bushenyi district. The association is called western Uganda private teachers Association[WUPTA]
According to the interim chairman Mr. Katwarana Anthony Asingwiire ,the association is aimed at fighting for the rights of private teachers without fighting Government.
He said that during the two year covid 19 lock down, private teachers suffered immensely whereas their colleagues government teachers were receiving salaries.
He added that government allocated billions of shillings to private teachers during covid 19 to be put in their Sacco but painfully was taken back to government treasury because there was neither a Sacco nor association of private teachers.
The launch was attended by Immediate Emeritus Bishop of west Ankole diocese Rt Rev. Yona Mwesigwa Katoneene, The MD NWSC Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha, deputy RDC Bushenyi Mr. Donanto Kasigazi and Buhweju district governor, Deo Atuhaire.
