FIRST FEMALE ELECTED GUILD PRESIDENT AT BISHOP BARHAM UNIVERSITY KABALE

Bishop Barham University a constituent college of Uganda Christian university in Kabale has elected their first ever female guild president in a highly competitive election.
Doris Ahurira a second year student pursuing Bachelors of Arts in education won against her strong opponent Amos Musinguzi also a second year student of bachelors in divinity by 67%.
Ahurira scored 383 polls while Musinguzi who lost got 170, 23 were invalid out of 574 votes in total.
Apollo Mbarema the Bishop Barham University the Dean of students declared Ahuriira as the president elect and she will replace Edgar Atungire the outgoing guild president.
Ahurira also became the first female student to contest in guild ship race at Bishop Barham University in last four years since Reheema Gift contested in 2015 and lost to Ambrose Atamba.
Mbarema said that the university will work with her (Ahurira) to satisfy students needs and develop the campus.
