In Masindi–
The town clerk Masindi municipality; Deo Ndimo was yesterday locked up in office by the municipal mayor and members of the executive, accusing him of poor service delivery.
Joab Businge, the Mayor Masindi municipality, says that they had
decided to detain him in his office because the situation has run out
hands.
After realizing that he had been locked up in his office, the town clerk called police who responded quickly and rescued him.
Busingye adds that the town clerk has failed to collect revenues from
the park arguing that he is always sidelining with some individuals who
evade revenues.
He also added that as council they are supposed to collect 24 million
in a month as revenue from the park but they see only 1 million saying
that this is being caused by failure to support the implementation of
the new policy.
Businge added that many projects are on stand still noting that the
even some which were worked on are shoddy noting that if he has failed
to perform he should resign.
When contacted the Masindi distrit police commander, Edwin Atukunda, to comment on the matter he said that he was called by the town clerk informing him that he had got a mechanical problem noting that he had to drive and pick him from the municipal premises.
He added that the town clerk has no problem with the mayor and the executive.
However, Deo Ndimo the town clerk Masindi municipal council never
commented on the matter since he never picked our repeated calls.
Our reporter saw the town clerk being driven away by the DPC Masindi
in a small car.
