FORMER BUSHENYI TOWN CLERK TO FACE DISMISSAL IN MASINDI
By Yosam Gucwaki DISMISSAL
In Masindi–
Masindi municipality councilors are finalizing plans of passing a
resolution to censure their town clerk; Deo Ndimo for allegedly failing service delivery.
The plot comes at a time the municipality is grappling with heaping
garbage which the councilors blame on Ndimo.
While responding to complaints of uncollected garbage by Masindi
central market vendors, Solomon Asiimwe, the municipal secretary for
health and community based services blamed the problem on the poor
mechanical condition of the municipality garbage dumpers which he
blamed on what he termed as Ndimo’s poor working methods.
Asiimwe revealed that one of the municipal councilors will on
Wednesday this week table a motion in the municipal council rejecting
Ndimo saying they cannot work with him anymore.
Peter Ndaabi, the municipality secretary for works and technical
services observed a need for having a town clerk who will cooperate
well with the councilors and implements its resolutions.
Ismael Haruna Irumba, the municipal councilor for Civic ward blamed
the poor sanitation in the municipality on Ndimo who he accused of
using public funds for personal gain.
However, when contacted, Ndimo, dismissed the allegations being made by the councilors arguing that they should come out with a record of what he has failed to do and what he has done. He insists that all the departments are working normally.
