FORMER KIBOGA DISTRICT VETERINARY OFFICER ARRESTED OVER FAKE DRUGS

The National Drug Authority officials have arrested former Kiboga District Veterinary Officer Dr. John Richard Atokor together with his wife for stocking Counterfeit and unregistered veterinary drugs worth over 100 million shillings in his home.

The drugs were found in two stores of his house located in Kiwanguzi Cell Kiboga Town Council Kiboga District.

It is reported that some of the drugs were being rebranded and sold by his wife Lillian Atokor in different animal markets within Kiboga and neighboring districts.

Jean Muhindo an Official from NDA says that Atokor had kept the drugs in the house which is not allowed and was also suspected of rebranding counterfeit drugs.

 Dr. Bernard SSebwomu the NDA senior Regulatory Officer says Atokor has been terrorizing the districts of Kiboga, Kyankwanzi and Hoima where he has been hawking his Counterfeit drugs.

The veterinary drugs impounded have been loaded onto the Lorry and taken to Kiboga Police Station.
