FORMER MAKERERE UNIVERSITY LECTURER MURDERS SON, MAID

Police in Sheema are hunting for a former Makerere lecturer who murdered his son, maid and injured his daughter.
Emmanuel Sabiiti, a former languages lecturer at Makerere University, allegedly attacked and killed the two with a panga on Sunday morning at around 4:00am in Kigarama, Sheema district.
According to Yusuf Kagwisagye, the area Local Council chairman, identified the deceased as Kendo 8 years, and the maid only as Lillian, 16 years.
Kagwisagye also identified the injured child who is currently admitted at Mbarara referral hospital as Clara 10 years.
Kagwisagye added that Sabiiti has had a protracted misunderstanding with his wife who he suspected of infidelity, questioning the legitimacy of their five-month-old baby.
The local Council chairperson added that Sabiiti retired four years, and has been running a bar called Zanzibar.
ASP Patrick Opio, the Sheema District Police Commander, confirmed the incident to www.mknewslink.com news website.
“There is a manhunt and we are investigating the matter,” Opio said before referring all further queries to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga.
By press time the crime scene was cordoned off by Police as investigations continue to ascertain the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
