MASINDI:
The former Acting District Health Officer Masindi is in hot soup over missing government mattresses from different health centres in the district.
Emmy Ngabirano the Resident District Commissioner Masindi has filed a case against the Interdicted Acting District Health Officer Masindi at Masindi Central Police Station.
Patrick Baguma is accused by Emmy Ngabirano over missing mattresses of different health centres in Masindi district.
Its alleged that Baguma picked a number of mattresses from different health centres in the district for the corona-virus isolation centres in early 2020.
The resident district commissioner stresses that when the isolation centres were closed, these mattresses were not returned to their respective health centres.
Ngabirano told our reporter Thursday morning that he tasked the in-charges of different health centres and they would not explain the whereabouts of the mattresses.
On the same note, he explains that he has opened up a case against Patrick Baguma at Masindi Central Police Station over the missing mattresses of different health centres in the district.
The mattresses were picked from Bwijanga Health Centre IV, Kimengo, Ikoba, Pakanyi, Kyatiri and Nyantonzi and they were delivered to Masindi district general hospital and other isolation centers including Masindi Public School and Kabalega Secondary School.
Ngabirano said that the investigations are on going and the concerned people have Wednesday recorded statements at Masindi Central Police Station
”Investigations are on going, at appropriate time will keep you updated. I don’t want to jeopardize with the investigations but i can guarantee you that those mattresses will be recovered.”
He also cautioned the public servants to live within their means, accountable, document and avoid corruption.
In an effort to get a comment from the accused former Acting District Health Officer Patrick Baguma was futile by press time since he known phone number wasn’t going through.
