By Fred Mwebembezi
In Fort Portal—
Fort Portal city clerk John Bosco Rusoke is on spot for mishandling COVID 19 relief money that came from the office of the prime minister.
It is alleged that the list of beneficiaries that came from the prime Minister’s office doesn’t match with the list of beneficiaries that the Fort Portal city clerk possesses.
During a meeting at mayor’s office in Fort Portal, the Western Uganda Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee discovered that some families had three beneficiaries while others received two shares.
Baziri Bataringaya, MP Kashari North who is the chairperson of the western PAC told www.mknewslink.com reporter that among all the Municipalities they had visited, Fort Portal’s list of beneficiaries who were submitted by chairpersons to town clerk were changed the clerk composed his own list.
He directed the deputy town clerk Mr. John Bosco Rusoke to formulate detailed information on how the COVID 19 relief money was used and how many beneficiaries received the money.
William Museveni, MP Buwekula south who is also a member of PAC noted that the city town clerk didn’t involve any stakeholder in the COVID 19 relief exercise with yet to be discovered intentions.
Fort portal tourism city was on top of the list of cities and municipalities in Western Uganda that received much COVID relief fund but was never released to people under the categories that were supposed to receive such money.
