FORT PORTAL MAYOR THREATENS TO SUE POLITICIANS, MEDIA OVER ALLEGED SEXUAL SCAM

Fort Portal Municipality mayor Rev.Kintu Willy Muhanga is intending to sue eight people accusing them of defamation.

In a letter dated 24^th September, 2019 written by his lawyers M/s NgaruyeRuhindi, Spencer and Co Advocates, they intend to sue the Manager Voice of Tooro, Kenneth Deko Nkojo VOT, John Bosco town clerk,Betty Mujungu VOT Joram Bintamanya district councilor south division Fort portal municipality, Magezi Willy Snob the chairperson East division in municipality, Asiimwe Stephen Kabarole RDC ,Kihunde Silvia worker in the municipality and Ndamira Misirikale Councillor Nyabukara west division among others.

They are accused of uttering defamatory statements against their client Rev.WillyKintuMuhanga that he was allegedly caught in a sexual scam with a married woman in his office on 4^th November 2019.

According to the lawyers, the uttered statements were false and therefore mount to defamation and are demanding shs500m as damages to be cleared within two days from the date of receipt.

The lawyers also demand shs50m as their legal fees and failure the matter will be taken to court.

Bruce Katuramu the Manager Voice of Tooro who acknowledged receipt of the letter doubts how he was involved as a person in the alleged mayor’s sexual scandal when at that time he was in his Honey Moon.

Bruce said that his lawyers will handle the case, noted that even the dating of the letter 24^th September 2019, which is before the occurrence of the alleged act is a clear unfounded move.

RDC Stephen Asiimwe said that he had not yet received the letter but termed it as a forged letter because it was written on 24^th September; whereas the mayor’s alleged sexual saga occurred on Monday 4^th November.

On Monday evening 4^th November a team led by Balya Amon a special hire driver raided the office of the mayor at Boma accusing him of having sexual affairs with his wife Martha whom they found in the mayor’s  office at around 8:00pm.

According to Muhanga, Amon stormed his office, took the office keys as he asked him to pay his dowry and take Martha because the recorded audios and text messages had irritated him.

 Surprisingly, Amon who would have featured on top among the sued persons is missing.
