FORT PORTAL MUNICIPAL ITY RESUMES CONSTRUCTION OF A 4Bn COUNCIL CHAMBERS.

Fort portal municipal council has resumed the construction of its council chambers worth 4Bn.
The construction of a 4Bn shillings municipal council chambers project commenced in 2015 during the regime of Asaba Edison Ruyonga former mayor but stopped in the middle of the work due to lack of enough funds.
According to Moyar Rev. Kintu Muhanga Willy, Fort portal municipality had a debt of 350M shillings to KHALSA development contractors.
However Muhanga has disclosed that so far a debt of 150M has been paid with help from ministry of finance and it is remaining with a balance of 200M shillings to conclude the debt.
Muhanga also said that Fort portal municipality ministry of finance has also pledged money worth 800M for the financial year 2018-2019 for the completion of the chambers.
Meanwhile while launching the resuming of the project, Eng. Dr. Adolf K Kahuma the project manager from KHALSA development (U) LMT said that the new work is to cost 149M shillings and is to last for four months.
Asiimwe Steven the RDC Kabarole warned the contractors against stealing of the construction materials.
