FORT PORTAL OPPOSITION CANDIDATES ACCUSE NRM OF GIVING FLAG BEARERS MONEY TO BRIBE VOTERS

In Fort Portal—
Opposition candidates in Fort Portal city have expressed their worries over funds that were recently allocated to National Resistance Movement flag bearers as a support from their political party.
Candidates claim that this may be one way of NRM bribing voters.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter, Rev. Willy Kintu Muhanga the Fort Portal city interim mayor said that the money has paved a challenge to other political parties which don’t facilitate their candidates.
Muhanga however said that instead of dishing out such money to NRM flag bearers, the government should have used it in delivering services such as education, medical care and better transport facilities to people among others.
Davis Rwamuhumbu the Fort Portal central division NUP mayor candidate said that there is no more leveled ground for the candidates as those who have financial support from their parties are likely to be at a better advantage to defeat them.
Rwamuhumbu noted with concern that the government should think about giving out money to opposition parties.
Rwamuhumbu asked electorates to be wise and careful while making their decision at the last hour other than being compromised by such money.
