FORT-PORTAL PASTOR ARRESTED FOR CONNING STUDENTS

Police in Fort portal has arrested and detained Pastor Robert Musinguzi of light of life ministries in Kabarole district for allegedly conning students of their money in a pretext to take them to South Africa.
According to the OC CIID Kabarole Godliver Twinomugisha,the pastor was arrested last evening after police received complaints that he had conned students who pray in his church, promising to take them to South Africa for studies.
According to police, Musinguzi has been soliciting money worth 3M shillings from several students promising to take them to South Africa for studies but all in vain.
According to Yazidi Sebi; Giso for East division two students approached him accusing Musinguzi of conning them of their money. The GISO called police who later arrested the pastor.
According to one of the students who fell victims to the fraud, Pastor, Musinguzi has been conning them for a long period of time as people desperately need help.
Asiimwe Steven; the RDC Kabarole disclosed that the police has searched Musinguzi’s church and discovered some military appraisals, fakes VISA documents and among others things.
Asiimwe said that as police is going to investigate on how Musingizi acquired the military appraisals and how long he has been defrauding people and thereafter taken to court for trial.
He further asked whoever has been conned by Musinguzi to come up and make statements at police.
Musinguzi is currently detained at Fort Portal police pending to be taken to court for trial.
