FOUR KILLED IN SEPARATE ACCIDENTS IN MBARARA CITY

Four people have died in separate accidents in Mbarara City.
In the first accident,two people died on spot while other three occupants were rushed to Mbarara regional referral hospital whereas one died on arrival at the hospital.
Rwizi region police mouthpiece,ASP Samson kasasira says all the yet to be identified victims were from Rwamagwa ,Masaka district.
According to Kasasira, vehicle registration number UAZ 438E Toyota Canter coming from Nyamitanga in Mbarara City heading to Isingiro district tried to overtake another motor vehicle which was in front at Mile 3 and in the process of dodging an oncoming boda boda from the opposite direction it knocked motor vehicle registration number UAE 777U Toyota Corolla whose driver male adult,and his co-driver female adult died on spot whereas other three occupants who were seated behind were rushed to Mbarara regional referral hospital in critical conditions where one died on arrival.
He adds that all the occupants of the motor vehicle registration number UAZ438E which was coming from kaberebere in isingiro district are still nursing injuries.
In another accident on Wednesday,one person died on spot and her baby sustained serious injuries following an accident in Nyamitanga near STABEX in Ruti , Mbarara City south division.
ASP Samson kasasira the Rwizi police spokesperson says the accident involved motor vehicle registration number UAY 169E Toyota Spacio and motorcycle registration number UEY417V Bajaj Boxer.
Kasasira says the cyclist of Bajaj Boxer who had two passangers on board was heading to Mbarara city when he rammed into an oncoming vehicle from Mbarara city at STABEX Ruti Petrol station.
He says preliminary investigations indicate that the cause of the accident was reckless riding by the unknown boda boda riders who tried to overtake a motor vehicle crossing into another lane and ramped into an oncoming motor vehicle from Mbarara city thus falling down and his motorcycle caught fire before unknown motor vehicle came from behind and stepped on one of the passengers who died on spot and her baby survived with injuries.
The injured were rushed to Mbarara regional referral hospital for postmortem report.
