FOUR MEN ARRESTED FOR ATTACKING KISORO BUSINESSMAN’S HOME, STEALING PROPERTY

Police in Kisoro district are holding four suspects for allegedly robbing properties worth millions from a business man’s home in Kisoro municipality.
The suspects are; Denis Katongore aged 27 a resident of Ruwafu Makindye division Kampala district, Derrick Sentamu aged 19 a resident of Kamonyi village, Kamonyi Ward, Northern division in Kisoro municipality, Patrick Katagenda aged 37, a resident of Gungu Masaja Busabala division in Wakiso District and Moses Ntezeyaremye aged 38yrs of Gishengere village, Nyagashenge Ward, northern division in Kisoro municipality.
It is alleged that on 14/10/2020 at around 1030hrs, four robbers went to the home Jovan Sabiti Kamacence 40yrs a Business man and resident of Nyaruhengeri village, Busamba Ward, Southern division, Kisoro municipality district disguising as workers who had gone to work on his building.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly matte, the said robbers attacked the victim’s children who were playing at home, threatened them with the knives and forced them to show them the keys for the father’s bed room.
Mate told www.mknewslink.com that one of the children, Makanga Evening aged 9 made an alarm when he saw the robbers trying to remove money form the mothers bag but they had to tie the two children with cellotape.
Matte adds fortunately the neighbours who had heard the child’s alarm intervened and the intruders took off with unspecified amounts of money, a flat TV 42″, and a decoder, using motor vehicle registration number UBG 268U Toyota wish Black in color.
He also noted that the public in collaboration with police pursued and arrested them with some of the stolen money and other properties.
The scene has been visited, exhibit of the knife, TV and part of the money has been recovered while the vehicle of suspects has also taken to police and all four suspects are in police custody as inquiries continue.
The aggravated robbery case was registered at Kisoro police main station under file number CRB 598/2020.
