FOUR PEOPLE ARRESTED IN KABALE FOR SETTING FAMILY ABLAZE

Police in Kabale are holding four people following the murder of a 56 year old man using petrol.
The deceased Karegyesa Tom together with the wife Jesica Mbirirwe 66 years and their 22 year old daughter Natamba Miracle all residents of Buhinga village Karujanga parish Rubaya s/c Kabale district were critically beaten and unconsciously burnt with petrol.
It is alleged that in the neighboring village of Karujanga cell Katuna town council died a 66 year old woman identified as Annet whom they accused Karegyesa of bewitching since they had a long standing conflict and she died a mysterious death.
Yesterday, after the burial rite of Annet, her relatives attacked the home of Karegyesa taking him and his family into Karujanga playground where they were set them ablaze using petrol before police came to their rescue.
According to police the victims were rushed to Kabale referral hospital where Karegyesa later died last night while the other two are still in critical condition.
The four were arrested by the Katuna police who handed them over to Kabale police station to help in the investigations
